Leaving London
The last two days have been hectic, but fun. We managed to see “Taming of the Shrew” in the Open Air Theatre at Regent’s Park and the setting was idyllic. From time to time, an airliner would pass by overhead, drown out the sound, the actors would patiently wait and then resume.
What gets to me in london is the apparent friendliness of everyone. when I was buying my ticket for the London Eye, there was this cute chick at the counter. and pleading guilty, she must have caught me staring her way a couple of times. I was lucky enough to be called to her counter (or maybe she arranged it that way? And once I purchased my ticket, I was rewarded with a cute wink! Haha. A good way to start the day. Unfortunately, I was dragged along from there.
British humour is as always, understated. One advertisement for single malt whiskey has the following line “we employ quality control experts, and a few ducks”, then they show the ducks eating the grain.
All in all, it has been a fun trip. I managed to catch England vs Hungary (at least the first half) friendly at a pub and got to experience a little of the football fever here.
More from Scotland, as I check my mail. I’ve been carrying around a backpack for the last two days, so hopefully, both the pack and the bag will stand up to inspection.
